Is BPC-157 FDA approved?
No. As of 23 September 2026, the US FDA's Drugs@FDA database holds no approved application for BPC-157, and the EMA has no record of it. FDA lists BPC-157 among bulk substances that may present significant safety risks in compounding. No FDA Philippines advisory names it.

US FDA: "No record found". Drugs@FDA covers approved and tentatively approved applications, so an investigational use would not appear there. EMA: "No record found" in its medicines report, which covers centrally authorised medicines and not national ones.

FDA's compounding list
On its page of bulk drug substances that may present significant safety risks in compounding (current as of 22 April 2026), FDA says of BPC-157: "Compounded drugs containing BPC-157 may pose risk for immunogenicity for certain routes of administration and may have complexities with regard to peptide-related impurities and active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) characterization. FDA has identified no, or only limited, safety-related information for the proposed routes of administration. Therefore, the agency lacks sufficient information to know whether the drug would cause harm when administered to humans."

Evidence and the Philippines
The Research Desk rates BPC-157's strongest evidence as small human studies: tendon, ligament and muscle healing and gastrointestinal injury in rats; interstitial cystitis and knee pain in small uncontrolled human reports.
In the Philippines, a search of fda.gov.ph for "BPC-157" on 23 September 2026 returned no advisory, and the registration record could not be read from the verification portal.

What approval would take
A drug approval starts with a sponsor running controlled human trials and filing them with a regulator. The regulatory dataset records no sponsor for BPC-157 in any record read on 23 September 2026, and the Research Desk found no randomised controlled human trial of it.
