Is retatrutide approved in the Philippines?

As of 23 September 2026, retatrutide is not an approved medicine in the Philippines or anywhere else. Its developer, Eli Lilly, describes it as investigational and plans a US Biologics License Application submission in Q1 2027. No FDA Philippines advisory names retatrutide, and its registration record could not be read that day.

Where retatrutide stands with each regulator

United States: "Investigational". Eli Lilly's release of 23 July 2026 describes retatrutide as investigational. Drugs@FDA returned no approved application.

European Union: "No record found". No row for this substance in the EMA medicines report generated 22 September 2026. That report does not cover national authorisations in EU member states.

Philippines: not established. Could not be established: the FDA Philippines verification portal search timed out on 23 September 2026, retried the same day in a browser with the same result. A search of fda.gov.ph for "retatrutide" on 23 September 2026 returned no advisory.

A US filing is a request for approval, not an approval. Any approval would cover a named, branded medicine for a named indication, and a registration in the Philippines would be a separate application to FDA Philippines.

What this means for a research vial

Retatrutide sold as a research reagent is not a registered medicine and is not presented as one. Primara Labs sells it for laboratory research use and states its investigational status beside the price on its product page, read from the same regulatory dataset as this answer.

Checking an approval claim

A claim that retatrutide is "approved" or "FDA registered" should come with an application or registration number that can be looked up. As of 23 September 2026, the Regulatory Status Tracker records no such number with the US FDA, the EMA or FDA Philippines.
